Adel N. Nucho is an associate attorney at the firm’s Detroit office. A fiercely determined and detail-oriented litigator, he represents clients in a variety of matters and is known to exceed client expectations.
On the business side, Adel helps manage the firm’s general business and commercial litigation practice, including breach of contract cases and contractor-subcontractor disputes.
Adel has meaningful experience in municipal matters relating to land use regulations and ordinances, including water rights of property owners on and around Michigan’s inland lakes and rivers.
In the area of religious property rights, Adel has a keen understanding of the First Amendment and the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA), which he continuously uses to successfully represent churches alongside the partners at the firm.
In addition to arguing before the Michigan Court of Appeals, Adel participates in mediations and was an integral part of negotiating and drafting a six-figure settlement agreement in a case on appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Prior to his work with the firm and during law school, Adel served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Robert H. Cleland in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan. He also served as a Student Attorney at the Federal Pro Se Clinic in the same court.
As a law student, Adel received a variety of academic honors, including the Book Award for Civil Procedure, Evidence, Contracts, and the Federal Pro Se Legal Assistance Clinic.
Adel was also an active leader and member of the Moot Court Board of Advocates. As a leader, he served as an Executive Director and worked primarily on drafting the problem for the 2019 Patrick A. Keenan Appellate Competition. As a contestant in the 2018 Patrick A. Keenan Appellate Competition, he was the recipient of the 3rd place Best Oralist award.
