Dalton & Tomich Attorney, Noel Sterett, to Lead Workshop on Resolving Church Property Disputes at 2022 CLS National Conference in Newport Beach, CA

On October 8, 2022, Dalton & Tomich attorney Noel Sterett will present a workshop at the 2022 Christian Legal Society National Conference entitled “Resolving Church Property Disputes: Past, Present, and Future.” Attorney Sterett, along with his co-presenter, Professor Michael V. Hernandez of Regent University School of Law, will discuss the history of church property disputes in the United States as well as the latest trends in church property litigation.

At Dalton & Tomich, our focus remains on helping congregations resolve their property disputes and navigate the complexities of this narrow area of the law. Helping local congregations leave a denomination, retain their property and move their ministry forward is what we do every day across the United States. In 2021 alone, we helped fifty-four local churches out of the United Methodist Church denomination.

If your congregation is considering whether to leave a denomination and how it can keep its property, please do not hesitate to give us call. We would love to help you secure your property and preserve your ministry for decades to come.
